PUBLIC MEETING

The City of Senoia hereby gives notice that a Public Meeting will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Senoia Municipal Court, 505 Howard Road, Senoia, Georgia 30276.

The purposes of the public meeting are to:

Inform the public of the need for improvements to the City’s wastewater system;
To comply with section 391-3-6-02 of Georgia’s Water Quality Control Rules (and amendments thereto);
To encourage public involvement in the development of a plan to improve the sewerage system;
To discuss the Environmental Information Document for the proposed improvements.
To comply with the requirements of the Clean Water Act and with the public participation requirements of Georgia’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) Environmental Review Process

The public meeting the City will attempt to identify public preferences for alternative methods of improving the City’s wastewater treatment capacity.  These alternatives will be evaluated and discussed at the meeting.  Input from the public regarding environmental issues will also be discussed at this meeting. 

As required by the State of Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division, the City of Senoia conducted an Antidegradation Review and Economic Analysis evaluating construction of a new water pollution control plant utilizing a no-discharge alternative versus stream discharge.  The Analysis concluded that a no-discharge alternative may place a large financial burden on many of the households of Senoia and implementation of a no-discharge alternative may interfere with development.  The Analysis concluded that the WPCP should be constructed utilizing stream discharge.

These documents are available for public inspection at the Senoia City Hall located at 80 Main Street, Senoia, Georgia 30276 or at the office of Turnipseed Engineers, 2255 Cumberland Parkway, Bldg. 400, Atlanta, Georgia, 30339.  The City will receive written comments through 6:00 p.m. August 20, 2018.
